This unusual fabric structure decorates the wall of a public carpark at Southport. Carparks are often drab and dark structures, and the owners of this project are to be congratulated for spending the time and money to make this carpark a little special.

The structural design of these lanterns was a simple task, but the steel and fabric detailing were complicated by the lack of right angles in the framing, and the importance of smooth and wrinkle-free fabric edges.
